Hudl is a sports analysis tool that helps coaches and athletes win.

Founded in 2006, Hudl provides a suite of video analysis tools that allow users to edit and share video, interact with stats, and create quality highlight reels for entertainment and recruiting purposes.

During my time at Hudl I primarily worked on the video team, responsible for a complete overhaul of the core video experience across platforms. The Hudl video player is not your average video player. It includes a full suite of tools that allow coaches to comment, annotate, and clip video in order to provide detailed analysis and increase team or individual performance.

With more than 164,000 active teams, one of the biggest challenges was making a video experience that would cater for the needs of multiple sports at different levels. American football, for example, has a different way of using video to the likes of basketball or soccer. The video below is a prototype I put together for a company retreat, that would demonstrate a vision for how this could work.
